The BIG Room 2025: Free Family Films
Expect a warm welcome.
A cuppa, a snack, an activity, and a family film to enjoy together on the big screen.
The BIG Room takes place at Nottingham Contemporary on the following dates:

We have limited capacity so booking is required. We are keen to welcome families most impacted by the rising cost of living.
Activities and refreshments from 1pm, the film will start at 2pm.
Film, activities and refreshments are all free.
All the films shown will have a PG or a U rating and are suitable for children of all ages.
It will be a relaxed screening with some lights on. Families are free to make a bit of noise and to move around. There will be cushions and rugs as well as cinema-style seating.
Nottingham City Transport have kindly sponsored the event for the third year running. Support with transport costs is available to enable access to the event, please request this when booking.

The BIG Room Family Film is held in our large ground floor area, called The Space (Level 1).

- Adult and child noise reducing headphones are available on request.
- We have a Changing Places facility.
- We are a Breastfeeding Welcome venue.
- All our Play & Learn Facilitators hold a current DBS certificate.
- We have staff on duty who are Safeguarding and First Aid, including Paediatric First Aid trained.
- We are a member of the Family Arts Campaign and part of the local Nottingham Network Group with our cultural friends.
