Community Workshops

Nottingham Contemporary is part of the local community; we are working to ensure everyone has opportunities to visit, explore and enjoy our activities. We welcome groups from schools, colleges, universities and community collectives to engage in our inspiring, educational and social activities. We offer self-led activities which can be used in our galleries, free activities with community groups and private low-cost tours.

If you can't see what you're looking for below, please check our What's On calendar for events, or see our Educational Group Visits information.

Community Workshops

We collaborate with numerous local groups and community focussed organisations, listening to participant wants and needs to create funded (free) bespoke events. We facilitate creative workshops and tours both at Nottingham Contemporary and around the city with artists which inspire creativity and create welcoming spaces to hold conversation and ideas.

  • Supported group visits and tours

  • Self-led gallery activities which encourage engagement with our exhibitions

  • Bespoke community workshops with artists, both inside and outside our building

  • Creative activities at local events

  • Opportunities to collaborate on community projects

Our aim is to encourage expression through art, support positive health wellbeing and cultivate social connections. We focus on building relationships with local communities who are often underrepresented and underserved which may include people who identify those aged 65+, people who identify as African, Caribbean, South or South-East Asian, and/or people from diverse socio-economic [social and economic] backgrounds.
