Collecting Sounds: Tue 3 Mar, 10.30am-12.30pm
Explore the immersive artwork of Sung Tieu, as we consider the emotions that sound evokes. We will create a collaborative ‘soundscape’ (combination of sounds) from unusual objects.
Drawing Sounds: Tue 10 Mar, 10.30am-12.30pm
Discover whether sound/music effects how you view the vibrant artwork of Denzil Forrester. Explore colour and movement to create your own large-scale art piece.
Conflict and Collaboration: Tue 17 Mar, 10.30am-12.30pm:
Get musical with percussion as we consider the effects of complementary and clashing sound. Examine instruments through mark-making (creating pattern, texture and shapes).
Listening and Hearing: Tue 24 Mar, 10.30am-12.30pm
Create your own ‘hearing’ devices as metaphors for your personal environment, inspired by the forms of Diane Simpsons sculptures. During this session we will reflect and share artwork produced during the Exploring workshops, issue certificates for participation, and there will be a chance to socialize with other participants.
Workshops are co-led by artist facilitators Charlotte Tupper and Chris Lewis-Jones.
