Work-in-progress sharing session with Hasan Hujairi
Fri 23 Jun, 1pm–2pmJoin us for a work-in-progress sharing session with composer, artist and Manager of the inaugural Music Department at the Sharjah Art Foundation Hasan Hujairi.
Hujairi will reflect on both his creative practice and what it means for him to undertake building a new department within a contextually unique cultural institution, sharing his early stage thinking shaping this. This work-in-progress discussion will present the opportunity to imagine possible approaches, considering issues such as care culture, community-building, and knowledge-sharing within different contexts. The session will be a communal space for participation and exchange where attendees are encouraged to ask questions as well as share their thoughts, knowledge and ideas.

Hasan Hujairi is an artist, composer, and writer from Manama, Bahrain. His works explore the intersection between histories (on the verge) of loss, the conditionalities of music and art pedagogy, and the historiographies of outsiders. He has in the past run independent music education forums in Bahrain and manages the inaugural music department at the Sharjah Art Foundation.
