Tom Dale Company and Inspire Youth Arts are back again with a special commission for LIGHT NIGHT 2023
UBX – SUB:VERSION
This special commission for LIGHT NIGHT 2023, celebrates light, choreography and electronic music. The themes and content of the show is based on TDC’s new group piece SUB:VERSION, featuring music by WEN.
Urban Explorers is Tom Dale Company’s flagship annual dance project integrating TDC professionals with youth dancers from across Nottinghamshire, working in partnership with Inspire.
This premiere performance at Nottingham Contemporary will bring the audience directly into the performance space for a new kind of interactive viewing experience.
The event takes place in The Space on the ground floor of Nottingham Contemporary.
A dynamic lighting design is central to this experience and audiences are free to move around the space to view the performance from every angle.
We will also be live-streaming the event onto the gallery window real-time video effects, making a unique version of the live show outside the gallery for audiences unable to see the performance inside due to space restrictions.
Urban Explorers gives young dancers the unique opportunity to make and perform work alongside professional dancers, supporting progression routes into creative careers or higher education.
This special LIGHT NIGHT performance gives audiences the special opportunity to see a sneak preview material being made for TDC’s new show in the making SUB:VERSION will premeire at Lakeside Arts on 17th and 18th March 2023 prior to a national tour. Booking has opened now. Click here to book.
