Activity: DIY Family Festival (Free materials)
Sat 28 Aug, 11am–2pmSunglasses and wellies at the ready? Join the live stream to take part in our DIY Family Festival as we celebrate together.
A whopping 3 hours of music, performance, activities, poetry, dancing, silliness, and fun, live in your own homes!
It all starts at 11am where the Play & Learn team, Milee, Rachel, Susie, and Ursula will show you how to create your festival props, before the performances get underway.
Turn any space into a festival space, everything you need for a festival at home (or away) is here!
We have a free family festival pack crammed with materials for each of you to join in the activities on the day. There are also ideas on how you could decorate your areas and be festival ready, you can even turn your lunch into festival food! I'm sure most of us would be happy with a basic picnic but for those more adventurous take a look here for some inspiration.
You can pick up your wristbands, programme and family festival pack from Nottingham Contemporary or we can pop them in the post for you. There are limited numbers so hurry and reserve your festival pack, email ljacques@nottinghamcontemporary.org
Further instructions on how to join us on the day live, will be released the day before.
Look out for Jude from Nottingham music and dance company, BeatFeet. She has prepared a fun and engaging hand drumming experience for all you music-makers to enjoy. Thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund and LW Arts for supporting this online workshop.
Get your wellies on, get those sunglasses out and be festival ready!
Tips at home:
- Make a clear space for activities and dancing
- Some children might need support or supervision for the activities
- Some of the materials require adult supervision for children aged under 3
Don't forget we want to see how you have set up your DIY Family Festival . You can share your spaces with us at #NCmaking.
