Capoeira Collective x Wahad: Nova Geração 2022
Nova Geração 2022 is a 3-day event involving capoeira, music and a small grading led by up-and-coming young teachers.
The first day of the Event will be held at the YMCA International Community Centre.
The last 2 days of the Event will be held in Nottingham Contemporary.
Created by Capoeira Collective and WAHAD, a collective of young Capoeiristas around the UK, this event is for people that are interested in capoeira, those with years of experience and anyone interested in trying capoeira for the first time.
Despite the fact that capoeira has been in the UK for over 30 years, it is still unknown to many people. With the introduction of social media, capoeira is becoming more popular, with many dancers, martial artists and movement practitioners showing interest in capoeira.
By calling on some of the most talented young Capoeiristas in the UK, this event aims to create a safe space where young people in the capoeira community can meet others that share the same interests. A capoeira event like this has never been attempted before in the UK.

Future of Futures is an immersive year-long research, engagement and artistic project led by young people. Borrowing from sci-fi as well as role play and scenario planning techniques, our project will be set’ in a future version of Nottingham at the end of the 21st century, to collectively reimagine the role of culture and our gallery.
