Free Teacher CPD: Associate Artist Walkthrough
Thu 6 Jun, 4.30pm–6.30pmJoin us for a preview of our new exhibitions through exploration of our educational resources to use in the galleries led by our Associate Artist team. Curriculum themes are linked to music, pattern, prints, textiles and decolonisation explored in practical and exploratory ways.
Between Sat 25th May – Sun 8th Sep we'll be showing 3 solo exhibitions in our galleries:
Julian Abraham ‘Togar’: REꓘONCILIATION
Togar will create a participatory environment centred around a chorus of automated instruments, re-imagined synthesisers, keyboards, ocean drums and live percussive interventions with the aim of offering audiences the chance to ‘co-experiment, co-explore, co-imagine, co-produce’.
Claudia Martínez Garay: WAKCHAKUNA / We who share everything and nothing
Encompassing painting, sculpture, printmaking, video and site-specific installation. Sculptural works most often reference pre-Columbian aesthetics, particularly artefacts from the Incan civilisation. Artefacts, cultural relics and propaganda communicate the history and social political memory of cultures.
Hamid Zénati: Two steps at a time
Algerian- German artist Hamid Zénati works across textiles, fashion and ceramics to wearable sculpture and photography. He creates an abstract visual language through his wealth of forms, patterns and combinations of colour, material and technique.
Suitable for all educators, including Early Years and SEN/D practitioners, teachers of all Key Stages, tutors at FE and HE and early career teachers.
