Exhibition Launch Party: Allan Weber and Daniel Lind-Ramos
Sat 1 Feb, 6.30pm-11pm, Galleries close at 9pmJoin us to celebrate the launch of our two new exhibitions by Allan Weber and Daniel Lind-Ramos - both artists' first major exhibitions in a European gallery.
The power of memory and storytelling is central to Daniel Lind-Ramos' work. He creates evocative sculptural assemblages that reflect Puerto Rican historical and contemporary experiences.
Working across a range of mediums including assemblage, installation, sculpture and photography, Allan Weber’s practice acts as a vehicle to deconstruct the realities of daily life within the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.
Galleries Open 6.30-9pm
Blend at Contemporary Open until 11pm with a night of DJ sets from Truth & Lies and Juni Figueroa alongside delicious food and drinks.
This exhibition launch, like all our programme, is free admission for all but donations are both encouraged and needed. As a registered charity, every donation – no matter the size – makes a big difference. Suggested donation £5. Thank you.

Truth & Lies return to soundtrack the exhibition launch with a selection of authentic Brazilian and Latino sounds born in the favelas and the Puerto Rican fuelled streets of Nuyorica. Think baile funk, samba, batucada, samba-reggae, salsa, descarga, boogaloo and other heavyweight dancing music to kick up dust to!
Formed after meeting at the landmark WEYA festival of 2012, Truth & Lies have developed a reputation for delivering finely-tuned events and culturally diverse DJ sets drawn from their internationally eclectic record collections. Their particular blend of vintage rarities and contemporary global rhythms combined with a deep interest in the cultural and social contexts of the music’s development has gained them residencies at leading festivals such as Houghton and Africa Oyé as well as invitations to bring their international party energy to galleries, clubs and festivals across the UK and beyond. They also write a well-respected blog that highlights some of their pan-global musical and historical interests.
