Nîvço mayî Interrupted is the first solo exhibition in the UK by Kurdish photographer Alican Erkol.

Erkol has been a political activist since the age of 15. In 2008, he started taking pictures while working at Yapi Sanatevi art space in Istanbul where he found a discarded broken 35mm Minolta X-300. He then went to study fine arts at Beykent University in Istanbul where he graduated in 2011. This series features people he met on the streets of Istanbul between 2009-2011, using his first camera.

Alican Erkol is now based in Nottingham where he co-chairs the Democratic Kurdish People’s Assembly in the UK.
