Sonic Textures, Shattered Scenes: Delphine Lievens and Rógan Graham In Conversation
Film experts Delphine Lievens and Rógan Graham discuss the current season of The Screen at Contemporary: Sonic Textures, Shattered Scenes, and the breadth of Black film-making, particularly from Black female directors.
Delphine Lievens a freelancer in UK independent film distribution and exhibition, working on distributing films with T A P E Collective alongside a diverse range of other projects and organisations. Delphine enjoys discussing current trends in the screen industries and the urgent need for more diversity in film, both on and off screen.
Rógan Graham is a writer and programmer from South London. Working broadly in film exhibition, her areas of interest are works by women and Black filmmakers. Rógan was the editor of the Clio award-winning The Underground Railroad campaign book for Barry Jenkins’ series adaptation, and her own writing can be found in Little White Lies, i-D, Seen, Curzon Journal and Polyester. When she isn’t writing or hosting events, she can be found on a soapbox talking about Mariah Carey via her Divas Do Film screenings.
