Summer for Families
Hello Families
It’s so nice to have you back in real life with us at Nottingham Contemporary.
We've realised how much time has passed since we last saw you as we've noticed many of our regular faces are quite a bit taller than before (some even taller than us!)!
And a few of you have new additions to the family to bring along too, which has been lovely meeting for the first time.
There’s now been two weeks of our Summer activities: "Re-build”, in The Space - the big room downstairs. You have been exploring shapes and materials, working from 2D to 3D, collaborating with your families (sometimes!) and putting your artwork into an exhibition area curated by you all.
If you haven’t been back yet there are still spaces you can book onto Tuesdays to Thursdays of the Summer holidays, 11-11.50am, 12.30-1.20pm, or 2-2.50pm.
These are bookable through Eventbrite and are free. Click here to book
Have your kids had the chance to experience a family festival yet? Now is the time! (And there’s no carrying of deckchairs or tired children…winner!!). We have a new event you can join in with from the comfort of your own home, our first Family Festival on Saturday 28th August 11am to 2pm!
There will be a livestream of music, activities and entertainment you can watch and make along with us for the whole three hours (or just join the bits you can).
We have free festival packs which you can collect from us, or we can post to you (email here) with all the materials you need to make a fun festival feel at home.
This is one festival that is going ahead whatever the weather!
Bye for now,
The Play and Learn Team, Aug 2021
Hello Families,
We in the Play and Learn team thought you might like a little insight into what we are doing at the moment… we are busy planning some Summer activities launching Tue 3 Aug 2021 to be in person at Nottingham Contemporary.
We will be back in The Space: our big room on the bottom floor of the gallery. We are working to make it a COVID safe setting; so it may look a bit different compared to if you’ve been before, but still involving families working together to create unique and fun art.
This summer we challenge you to Re-build using each family member, shapes, objects and sculpture to construct collaborative pieces which will become part of a group exhibition.
See you soon,
Rachel Scanlon, July 2021
