Feedback Loop
Feedback Loop represents a system, a circuit, a loop of action and reaction, a sense of time and a method of knowledge production that is generative and cyclical. Used in biology, climate, sound and psychology, the term Feedback Loop evokes ideas of reiteration and re-articulation, a chamber of echo and disruption. Feedback Loops maintain an equilibrium and hold the possibilities of entropy and collapse, the feed and the back, the host and the guest simultaneously.
Drawing from the intentions of Julian Abraham ‘Togar’’s exhibition REꓘONCILIATION, and the question “what kind of hosts are we?”, this event series aims to break away from the binary structure often inherent in feedback loops by turning Togar’s exhibition into a space of sonic circuit and exchange. As part of Feedback Loop, Mampir Sessions present the contributions of our surrounding communities and local collectives which are collectively transmitted to rethink the roles of the host, the guest and hospitality and their attendant politics.
Feedback Loop runs throughout the exhibition and includes contributions by David Soin Tappaser, Soy Division, NWAKE, Shamica Ruddock, Masimba Hwati, Paul Stanley Nataraj, Brother Portrait, Guohan Zheng (Running Circle), Mac Collins, Robin Hood Youth Orchestra, Dipesh Pandya, Andrea Zarza Canova, Yazan Khalili, and Waste Paper Opera, amongst others.
