Autist Art Collective

Book Now

Autists are a newly formed creative collective based in Nottinghamshire. Autists all have experience of Autism (either personally or as a parent, sibling or friend of someone with autism) and meet as a group to share, learn and develop different interests in art. The aim is to create positive social networks and nurture creative skills.

Autists are inviting new members to join these small group workshops to meet new people, develop skills and learn new ones as well as have the opportunity to exhibit your work.

During this series of creative workshops, we will work with artist Gillian Brent taking inspiration from our current exhibition to create individual and collaborative art pieces. In the workshops, we will work with different art forms including photography, cyanotypes and collage to create work which, following a similar successful event last year, will be exhibited to the public at Loxley House (Nottingham City Council) during National Autism Week (1 – 7 Apr 2019).

No previous experience needed. Art materials and refreshments (water, tea, coffee, fruit and biscuits) will be provided free of charge.

  • Taking photos
  • Drawing on acetates

Session Two: 12 Mar 4-6.30pm

  • Creating collages using photos, cyanotypes and drawings.
  • Investigating other materials and textures.
