The Houdini Club Autumn Term

A Neon sign says "the Houdini club"

The Houdini Club seeks to gather people across the East Midlands who are excited by contemporary choreography, performance and live art. We welcome experienced practitioners (performers, poets, skateboarders and Sunday painters) and those who have yet to find their home. Who is about? What excites us? How are we (individually and collectively) continuing to foster spaces for the unlikely, indescribable and unjustifiable?

The Houdini Club is convening Autumn Term: a space for performance-makers across the East Midlands to gather, make, flirt and co-learn. Over three Sunday workshops, we will surround ourselves with gestures, materials, clothes, books and stillness, and deep-dive into collaborative and individual performance-making. We will commit to experiments, enjoy extravagant lunches, and let our errant ideas fill the space and collide with one another.

The workshops will take place on Sunday 23rd October, 12-4pm, Sunday 20th November, 12-4pm, Sunday 18th December, 12-4pm at Nottingham Contemporary.
