Creative Connections is an initiative that connects young people with artists to explore and create new responses to the National Portrait Gallery's Collections.
Students from Farnborough Academy have been invited to explore portraits of inspiring figures connected to their local area of Clifton, Nottingham. They have been working closely with artist, Katherine Green to explore and respond to the places and people that make up their community and create original artworks as a response.
The students' works will then be exhibited at both the National Portrait Gallery, London, and Nottingham Contemporary.
Creative Connections aims to inspire young people, broaden and raise their aspirations, promote pride in their local neighbourhood and support the development of creative skills.
